Rocklin Man Accused Of Recording Women, Girls In Store Bathrooms, Portable Toilets
ROCKLIN (CBS13) — A Rocklin man is accused of secretly videotaping women for at least seven years at a local store, in a private bathroom and in portable toilets at sporting events.
Peter Nelson had homes in both Rocklin and Elk Grove and is also accused of having child pornography.
After hearing her husband is accused of recording dozens of women in bathrooms, both public and private, Nelson's wife calls it a bad dream,
"I would have never expected this, ever," she said. "I feel like I've been literally blindsided."
She insists she had no idea, calling Nelson a good father. Her life is not turned upside down after detectives arrested Nelson at a Costco for allegedly taking photos up women's dresses.
But that was just the beginning.
After further investigation, detectives say they would find hours of video of unsuspecting women in public bathrooms, his home bathroom, even portable toilets used by girls at a softball game.
"We're still trying to determine the exact location of where these portapotties were at, and that's going to take a lot more investigation time," said Placer County Det. Jim Hudson. "Most of all, we'd like to find out the identities of those we do have on film right now."
Nelson's wife says she didn't know about the videos or the cameras until Monday night.
"To the people who have had this happen, the same thing, I put myself in their shoes, what if somebody did that me," she said. "I offer heartfelt, heartfelt, apologies to every single one of them, just know it's—just know. I wouldn't wish it on anybody."
