Rocket Plasma Lamp Could Offer Solution For Drought By Bringing Sunlight Inside
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Plasma lights are revolutionizing the way plants are grown and even animals by bringing the sunlight inside.
Imagine being able to grow all of your favorite fruits and vegetables any time of the year without ever going outside.
The Rocket Plasma Lamp gives off light just like natural sunlight.
Co-owner Tanya Czarkowski says it's the only indoor growing lamp that can do that. The trick is the light spectrum with intense reds.
"This allows you to have that perfect tomato in the middle of January," she said.
The lamp claims to emit less heat than other indoor lamps, which means they are ideal to use in a drought, and can cut down on costs for farmers and sellers.
"it's not only energy-efficient with your wattage, but it has very low heat, and when it comes down to water consumption, you do get to use less," she said.
A lamp where less is more that can be used in both small and commercial-size gardens.
"You can literally plug this in over your vegetable tray and you can end up with a beautiful selection of organic greens at any time of the year," she said.
The light also works for aquariums and raising animals like birds. It costs just under $1,000.
