Robbery Suspects Fire Shots While Being Chased By Victims
FAIRFIELD (CBS13) – Fairfield Police are searching for two suspects who robbed a business and fired shots as several victims chased them down the street, according to police.
The incident began just before 3:30 Monday afternoon when the two suspects entered a store on Lopes Road. The armed suspects took the cash box of the business as well as the wallets, cellphones and keys of six people inside.
The suspects then went to the parking lot and tried to figure out which cars belonged to the victims. Several victims then began chasing the suspects who fled to a nearby vacant lot, according to police. At some point, the suspects fired their gun either at the victims or into the air. No one was hurt in the shootings.
Fairfield police with help from a CHP helicopter searched the area but were unable to find the suspects.
The first suspect is described as a black man, 5 ft 6 inches tall and approximately 160 lbs. He was wearing a light colored hoody pulled tight about his face.
The second suspect is described as a black man over 6 ft and 200 lbs wearing a dark colored mask with a large afro visible beneath it.
Police say the two were armed with a six-inch chrome revolver.
Fairfield Police say they discourage people from confronting armed suspects. Instead, victims should call police.
