Rio Linda Elementary School Placed On Lockdown As CHP Searched For Suspect
RIO LINDA (CBS13) - A Rio Linda elementary school was placed on lockdown while authorities searched for an unidentified man Thursday afternoon.
Westside Elementary, which is at 6537 W. 2nd St., was on a precautionary lockdown from around 12:30 p.m. until just before 2 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol had attempted to pull over the man for a routine traffic stop, but after running the vehicle's license plate, officers learned the car was stolen. The suspect then jumped out of the moving car and ran away.
CHP officers chased the man on foot, but he got away.
