Resident Opens Fire On Intruders, Kills 1
RICHMOND (AP) — Richmond police say a robbery suspect was killed and another was wounded when the victim of a home invasion opened fire on them.
According to police, a group of men tried to storm a house with firearms Wednesday night in a robbery attempt.
Lt. Bisa French says one of the home's residents fought back and opened fire, prompting the intruders to run away.
Authorities say 19-year-old Robby Ross Jr. was found around the corner from the house and taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A second male suspect also was found wounded in the street and hospitalized.
None of the home's residents was seriously hurt.
Police say the resident who opened fire has not been arrested, though the investigation continues. More home invasion suspects also are being sought.
