Ten people shot during rapper French Montana's video shoot in front of Miami Gardens restaurant
MIAMI - Nearly a dozen people were injured in a shooting outside a Miami Gardens restaurant on Thursday evening.
It happened at around 8 p.m. in the area of the 2700 block of NW and 175th Street.
CBS4 learned that a confrontation that started somewhere else, ended up in a shooting outside The Licking restaurant.
"There were multiple shots fired, it sounded like an assault rifle," says witness Ced Mogul.
Six people were taken to area hospitals, four of those were taken by air rescue to the Ryder Trauma Center. Another four drove themselves or had someone drive them to the hospital.
The shooting happened during rapper French Montana's music video shoot, in the parking lot of the restaurant.
Mogul said 10-15 gunshots rang out and people started running everywhere.
"When we heard the gunshots, people started running, some people had blood on their shirts, some people were crying on the ground," said Mogul. "It's just tragic."
Wilmark Baez was at the filming. He grabbed his god-sons and dove for cover when gunfire broke out.
"I had my back turned and all of a sudden ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba and that's when everyone started running," he said.
That's when he said it turned chaotic, "There was a guy running around asking to be taken to the hospital. He was running with his hand, with blood from his stomach. He was just running around asking everyone to "take me to the hospital, take me to the hospital,' he recalled.
Miami Gardens police tells CBS Miami News that rapper Rob 4-9 was also hit. "One of the main rappers, Rob49, he jumped into a car and they took him to the hospital right away," Baez said.
Federal agents from ATF and the US Marshal's Office were on the scene Friday with K-9 units sniffing around the parking lot.
Baez said the video featured his low rider and his English bulldog. The dog ran away when the gunfire began. He's still looking for her.
Baez said the violence needs to stop. "This is crazy, you all need to fight with hands if you're going to fight over something, not with guns. Stop the violence. This is ridiculous," he said.
So far there have been no arrests in the shooting. Miami Gardens police confirm there are no fatalities.
