Early morning duplex fire in Rancho Cordova displaces several people
RANCHO CORDOVA – A residential duplex in Rancho Cordova went up in flames early Tuesday morning, displacing at least eight people.
Metro Fire of Sacramento crews responded to the scene on S. White Rock Road just before 5 a.m. and found flame shooting from the structure.
Crews were able to save one unit of the duplex, but the other side was wrecked by the fire.
Firefighters say no serious injuries were reported, thanks in part to the duplex's up-to-date smoke alarms.
It took around 14 minutes to put out the flames, Metro Fire says. Crews were out through the rest of the early morning checking on hot spots.
Exactly what started the fire is still under investigation.
