Rampage Suspect Charged With Murder
SAN JOSE (AP) -- A parolee suspected in a violent crime spree that included the carjacking, kidnapping and killing of a woman and the shooting of a man at a San Jose gas station is being held without bail.
Paul Ray Castillo didn't enter a plea during his arraignment Wednesday in Santa Clara County Superior Court. Charges against him include murder and kidnapping.
The 33-year-old is accused in the Friday gas station shooting, as well as the death of 60-year-old Cindy Nguyen, a popular radio talk show host whose body was found Saturday.
Castillo was arrested in West Sacramento on Sunday. He's due in court on Oct. 5.
San Jose police raided a marijuana co-op Tuesday in connection with the incident. Officers believe two employees of the TreeHouse Marijuana Collective helped Castillo elude authorities.
