Rains Expected To Stay North; Sunny Weekend In Forecast
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Clouds are hovering over the Sacramento region on Thursday, but the wet weather is expected to stay to the north of the region.
Rains could filter down into Plumas County and over to the Sierras but not get down to the valley.
"The jet stream pattern shifted just far to the north to keep most of those storms from bringing us the rains we typically rely on getting this time of the year," CBS13 meterologist Laura Skirde said. "We will continue to stay dry as we head into the weekend."
A high of 62 is expected in Sacramento Thursday, then highs in mid-60s for Friday and the weekend, with patchy fog in the mornings.
Skiing conditions should be good in the mountains after the snowpack increased from 2 to 4 feet up to 40 to 60 feet after last weekend's storms, according to the National Weather Service.
