Rain In Valley, Snow In Mountains On The Way
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- After another nice day with highs in the mid-60s on Wednesday, the clouds will begin to roll in over the Sacramento Valley, bringing rain on and off through the weekend, according to CBS13 meteorologist Laura Skirde.
Skirde says it looks like rain showers won't be moving in until 4 or 5 p.m. on Thursday, with showers overnight Thursday and through the day Friday, but valley totals are only expected to be around .25 of an inch.
As for the low snow threat in the foothills, National Weather Service says the brunt of the weather will occur Friday and Friday night. Snow levels start out Thursday around 6,000 to 7,000 feet and lower to 2,000 to 2,500 feet by Friday night.
Snow levels may lower a bit more early Saturday, but most of the precipitation will have greatly diminished at this point. The Sierra pass levels could see 6 to 12 inches of snowfall, while a dusting of snow could be as low as 2,000 feet by Saturday morning.
Skirde says we could see a lull in the rain as we head through Saturday, with another round of wet weather Saturday night into Sunday.
It's going to be cool all weekend long, with high temperatures only in low 50s and lows dropping into the mid 30s.
