Rain Moving Out, High Winds Moving In
Rain showers will be moving south out of our area through 10 am.
The activity on the radar is widely scattered, but there are small pockets where brief, heavy rain may fall, from Sacramento south into Stockton and Modesto through 10 a.m.
We are still seeing light snow showers above 6,000 feet in the Sierra mainly from Highway 50 south to Yosemite.
Some patchy fog may develop early Thursday morning. By 10 am, the winds kick in for the next couple of days, which will keep fog from forming tomorrow.
WIND ADVISORY begins at 10 AM THU – 7 PM for the valley:
- From the north at 15-30 mph
- Gusting to 45 mph
HIGH WIND WARNING begins at 7 PM THU – 4 AM SAT for Sierra:
- From the northeast at 15-35 mph
- Gusting to 65 mph
- Over highest mountain ridges, gusts could hit 80 mph.
Two-day rain totals from the storm are generally around 1-1.5 inches for valley and 2 inches in the foothills. Snow totals are just over 6 inches for higher mountain elevations above 6,500 feet.
