Raiders Sign QB Trent Edwards

The Oakland Raiders have signed quarterback Trent Edwards and defensive tackles David Carter and Torell Troup to reserve/future contracts.

General Manager Reggie McKenzie announced the deals on Thursday.

Edwards has played 38 games in his NFL career with Buffalo, Jacksonville and Philadelphia, throwing for 6,033 yards, 26 touchdowns and 30 interceptions. Edwards spent time in Oakland's camp in 2011 before being beaten out by Kyle Boller for a backup quarterback spot.

Carter spent two seasons with Arizona and played three games this year for Dallas.

Troup spent two seasons with Buffalo and has been sidelined since 2011 with a back injury.
