Raiders Avoid Blackout; Home Opener To Air On CBS13
OAKLAND (CBS13) -- The Oakland Raiders announced they have sold out their home opener against the New York Jets on Sunday in time to avoid the NFL's television blackout rule.
The game will air on CBS13 at 1 p.m., with Jim Nanz and Phil Simms calling the action.
The Raiders (1-1) opened the season with a win at Denver and a loss at Buffalo, where they fell 38-35 last week after leading 21-3 at halftime.
The Jets, led by high-profile head coach Rex Ryan, have started the season with home wins over Dallas (27-24) and Jacksonville (32-3).
The Raiders had until Thursday to sell out and avoid the NFL's blackout of local markets, including Sacramento. It's just the second time in the last 16 home games the Raiders have avoided a TV blackout.
This will be the 46th of 129 regular-season home games televised locally since the Raiders moved back to Oakland from Los Angeles for the 1995 season.
The game can also be heard on KHTK-1140 AM, the radio home of the Raiders in the Sacramento region.
