Prosecutors: Turlock Man Used Explicit Image Of Children As Screen Saver
FRESNO, Calif. (AP) - Federal prosecutors say a Northern California man has been convicted for a second time on child pornography charges.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says 47-year-old Jeffrey Randall Metcalfe of Turlock was sentenced on Wednesday in a Fresno courtroom to spend 30 years in prison. Prosecutors said he was first convicted in 2000.
Investigators searching Metcalfe's home say they found thousands of explicit images printed up or stored on his computer.
They say Metcalfe used an image of children being exploited as a screen saver.
Prosecutors say that Metcalfe also posted comments online about his interest in such pornography.
Homeland Security Investigations special agent Michael Toms says that it's common for people caught exploiting children to offend repeatedly.
Metcalfe's attorney declined to comment.
