Power Outage May Affect Foothills Residents For Days
NEVADA CITY, Calif. (CBS13) -- The weekend storm fronts left thousands without power in Northern California, and crews are warning that some residents may not see their power restored for days.
More than 18,000 PG&E customers in four counties reported power outages between Saturday night and Sunday night as a fierce storm plowed over the Sierra, bringing rain, winds and snow across the mountains.
Some residents say it's been the longest outage that they have experienced, but are trying to deal with it the best that they can.
"So the refrigerator is getting too warm. The freezer is holding up pretty well, so we're making sure we cook here and get through some of the food," said one resident.
Officials are warning some residents to prepare for days without power. They hope to have power restored by the Thanksgiving holiday.
