Woodland Woman Reportedly Awakes To Rapist In Her Bedroom
WOODLAND (CBS13) - Police are investigating a terrifying attack in Woodland after a woman reportedly woke up to find her attacker in her bedroom with a knife to her throat.
The alleged victim spoke to CBS13. She didn't give her name and she didn't want to show her face on camera, but she has a horrifying story to tell.
"I woke up and someone was on top of me and had something to my throat and said, 'If you scream, I'll kill you,'" she said.
The victim said she didn't scream as the attacker raped her Wednesday night around 3 a.m., but unexpectedly, she found a moment to escape.
"He was vomiting and stepped to one side of the bed, and I took the opportunity because I knew he couldn't get over the bed fast enough to get me and I ran out of the house, grabbed a curtain from the door, and ran to my friends out.
The neighbor called police, but the suspect was gone, leaving behind his knife. Police are testing it for evidence.
She was able to describe her attacker as a medium build light-skinned male, wearing a black beanie type hat.
"I can't say anything more than I told the officer, which isn't very much," she said of the man's description.
CBS13 asked her why she was speaking publicly about the incident.
"I really just want to live my life peacefully," she said. "If it helps someone else from getting hurt, than yes I'm all for it, but I just want to live peacefully."
The woman went to a hospital for treatment and was staying at a shelter Friday night.
