Police: Teen Jogger Assaulted, Possibly By Suspect Wanted For August Incidents
FAIRFIELD (CBS13) – Police say that a man matching the description of a suspect wanted for assaulting young joggers in Fairfield has attacked another girl.
The incident happened on Wednesday a little before 8:30 p.m., according to the Fairfield Police Department. A 17-year-old girl reported to police that she was jogging out near Westamerica Drive and Sandstone Way when a man walked up to her asked for directions.
She says the man then assaulted her, but she was able to fight back and get away.
Police say the suspect matches the description of a man wanted for three other sex assaults in the Fairfield area from early August. Due to the similarities, detectives say they believe that all four incidents are related.
A sketch of the suspect was released back on Aug. 19. Police note that, due to the girl fighting back in the latest incident, the suspect might have a scratch on his hands, arms or face.
Anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to call the Fairfield Police Department Major Crimes Unit at (707) 428-7600.
