Police: Suspects Stole Puppies, Assaulted Woman
RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. (CBS13) -- Police are searching for two men who allegedly assaulted a woman and stole newborn puppies at her Rancho Cordova home.
The victim posted an classified ad Thursday on eBay to sell some of her nine-week-old purebred Yorkshire Terrier puppies, and said she received a phone call from a woman who claimed she was interested in buying one of the dogs.
The breeder gave the caller her address, and about a half hour later, she spotted two men trying to break into her home.
"I said, 'What are you guys doing?'" the woman said. "They just kind of looked at me."
The suspects allegedly attacked her and dragged her into her garage, knocking her to the ground. One of the suspects kept her pinned and warned her not to scream while the other suspect ran inside to steal three of her puppies.
"The one guy was just mauling my face, tore my glasses off," the victim said. "They were saying, 'We just want your puppies.' And I just fell apart."
The woman suffered minor injuries in the incident.
The men have only been described as light-skinned black male adults, approximately 6 feet tall; one suspect wore a gray hooded sweatshirt and the second wore a white sweatshirt.
