Police Searching For South Lake Tahoe Gas Station Clerk's Masked Killer

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE (CBS13) - A South Lake Tahoe gas station clerk's murder has left investigators with very little to go on.

Just before 11 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the USA gas station, located at 2470 Lake Tahoe Boulevard, to a report of a clerk on the floor in a pool of blood.

Arriving officers say the victim had no pulse, and immediately began CPR until fire and medic personnel arrived. The victim was later pronounced dead at the scene. He had a gunshot wound.

Investigators say video surveillance shows a masked thin male suspect entering the store. He had a brief exchange with the clerk before raising a handgun, opening fire, and then fleeing.

The suspect is described as a male standing between 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall. He was wearing dark clothing; including a black hoodie and a dark mask over his face. Investigators do not have a solid age description, only a range of 20s to 40s. The suspect's race is also unknown, but surveillance video indicates he has fairly light skin.

The victim's identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification.

Anyone with any information regarding this investigation is urged to call the South Lake Tahoe Police Department at (530) 542-6100 or Secret Witness at (530) 541-6800.
