Police Search Del Paso Heights For Man In Santa Hat Who Dropped Loaded Gun
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Officers are searching a Sacramento neighborhood for a man wearing a Santa Claus hat who reportedly dropped a loaded gun while trying to get away from police.
Police spotted the suspect riding a bicycle at around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Glenrose Avenue and Ellen Street in Del Paso Heights. The man was acted suspiciously, and when approached by officers, rode off, hitting a pole and dropping a gun he allegedly had hidden in his waistband, according to a Sacramento PD spokesperson.
Officers are searching the neighborhood with guns drawn. K-9 officers and a helicopter are also being used in the search.
Police fear the man could have another weapon.
