Police Release Name Of Suspect In Fatal Stabbing

FOLSOM (CBS13) – Police have released the name of the man accused of stabbing a teenager in Folsom on Monday morning.

Police say 22-year old Joshua Atkins is accused of stabbing 19-year old Minor Leon to death after an apparent drug deal went bad.

An officer saw Atkins running across East Bidwell Street and questioned him. Police say Atkins led the officer to the supposed murder weapon.

Leon was found nearby and was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Atkins now faces murder charges.
