Police Investigating Modesto Abductions

MODESTO, Calif. (CBS13) -- Authorities are investigating the abduction and assault of two girls who were walking home from school Wednesday afternoon.

The Modesto Police Department said the two girls were leaving school in Modesto when they were approached by two black males in their 20s in a gold Escalade.

After a conversation with the suspects, the two girls got into the truck at Colfax Avenue and Encina Avenue under unknown circumstances.

After a few minutes, one of the girls escaped the truck and flagged down a passing motorist, who called 911 and reported the incident. The second girl was located an hour later.

Both girls were assaulted and are being treated at a hospital.

The suspects are described as two black male adults in their 20s. One suspect had an afro, black hooded sweatshirt and bad teeth, and the second suspect was wearing San Francisco Giants colored (black and orange) clothing.
