Police: 1 Killed, 5 Injured In Elk Grove Crash
ELK GROVE (CBS13) – Police say they're investigating a crash that has taken a woman's life in Elk Grove Saturday afternoon.
The crash happened at the intersection of Laguna Boulevard and Laguna Park Drive. According to the Elk Grove Police Department, a Ford Focus and a Dodge pickup truck were heading west on Laguna Boulevard and had the right of way.
Another car, a Ford Edge, heading east on Laguna Boulevard then tried to make a left-hand turn at the intersection of Laguna Park Drive and was hit by the pickup.
Police say the driver of the Ford Edge was killed in the crash. She had two children in the car with her. Two adults and one child were in the Dodge. In total, police say, five people have been taken to the hospital for injuries.
Drivers should avoid Laguna Park Drive and Laguna Boulevard as traffic is being diverted around the area, police say.
