Police Investigate Two Shootings In Four Hours In Manteca

MANTECA (CBS13) - A violent night in Manteca has officers investigating two shootings that took place within four hours of each other.

Police were first called to reports of a shooting just after 9:30 Tuesday night in the 1000 block of Virginia Street.

Officers arrived to find a 30-year-old man down on the sidewalk with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was conscious at the time but his condition was listed as critical Wednesday morning.

Police do not have a suspect description but say the suspect vehicle was described as small and white.

Officers are trying to determine if the shooting was gang-related.

Four hours later, police got a call of shots fired in the 400 block of Acacia Avenue. They found multiple shell casings in the street, but no victims.

Anyone with information about either shootings is asked to call the Manteca Police Department at (209) 456-8101, or you can contact South County Crime Stoppers and remain anonymous at (209) 823-4636.
