Statewide Amber Alert Issued For Missing Sacramento Toddler

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (CBS13) - A statewide Amber Alert has now been issued for a Sacramento girl who was abducted by her father and whose life may be in danger.

Madeline Layla Samaan-Fay was taken by her father on August 7 from her Sacramento home. Madeline is two-years-old with brown hair and brown eyes. It's unknown what she may be wearing.

Her father, Mourad "Moni" Samaan, is a 49-year-old US citizen born in Egypt. He is 5' 6" inches tall with black hair and brown eyes. He is believed to be an accomplished Spanish speaker.

The FBI says the circumstances of the abduction are particularly concerning and they believe Madeline's life may be in jeopardy.

"In spite of extraordinary efforts by our field agents and local law enforcement, we have been unable to develop any leads on the whereabouts of the child or her father since this Saturday," said Special Agent in Charge Herbert M. Brown.

Samaan usually drives a green Toyota 4-runner with California license plate 3XRM111.

If you have any information about Madeline or her father, please contact the FBI in Sacramento at 916-481-9110.
