Play Structure At Park In Carmichael Set On Fire
CARMICHAEL (CBS13) - Part of play structure at a Carmichael playground was still smoldering Tuesday morning after it was set ablaze hours earlier.
The fire happened around 3 a.m. at Del Campo Park in Carmichael, which is between Thomas Kelly Elementary and Del Campo High School. Fire crews arrived at the scene and quickly put out the flames.
Neighbors say there has been a lot of vandalism in the park over the past few years.
There's graffiti all the time on the buildings. They must paint that building probably once a month to cover up graffiti," said a resident who lives nearby. "Why destroy a park? You know, I don't get the message."
The fire is under investigation.
