Phoenix Mayor Eyes Northern California For Jobs
PHOENIX (AP) — Phoenix officials are eyeing Northern California as a possible source of new jobs for Arizona's largest city.
Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton's office says Stanton, City Manager David Cavazos and an economic development official will travel next week to San Francisco and Silicon Valley to woo companies considering relocations or expansions outside California.
Stanton says in a statement that Phoenix wants to partner with technology and manufacturing companies so they can be mutually successful.
Stanton's office says it won't release the names of the companies involved because of what it calls "the confidential nature of the visits."
