Another Strong Wind Event May Lead To Mid-Week Shutoffs, PG&E Says
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — PG&E said they are monitoring a potentially strong wind event expected mid-week that may bring more shutoffs to customers in the Sierra Foothills, North Valley and North Bay.
The utility said the weather event is projected to impact 250,000 customers.
Some residents in Auburn who endured the last round of shutoffs were upset by the news.
"It's horrible," Jeff Medigovich of Forest Hill said. "They need to get their act together."

Frustrated resident Brianna Massengale said, "There's a lot of things you're hearing about PG&E and what they have done and what they haven't done, so you kind of have to ground yourself and say I'm thankful for what I have and just get through it."
PG&E said their website and call centers have been improved to handle more traffic.
More updates are expected to come throughout the start of the week.

Local areas that may be affected are Butte, Colusa, El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra, Solano, Yolo and Yuba counties.
Cal Fire spokesperson Andy Greggerson said fire equipment has been on standby all season
"Obviously, if those winds do surface it could cause some power shutoffs," he said. "Also, we're still critically dry, our fuels are still critically low as far as fuel moisture."
Greggerson said wind events cause issues in their firefighting efforts.
"Winds are always a battle for us," he said. "We just have to take advantage of moving out ahead of it."
