Peregrine Falcon Stolen After Surgery
RANCHO CORDOVA (CBS13) -- A peregrine falcon that had surgery in Roseville was stolen in Rancho Cordova and could die if not recovered, its owner said.
Falcon breeder Martin Stiasny was on his way back to Reno Thursday night but couldn't get home because of the snow. The bird was taken out of his car parked at friend's house in the 2100 block of Red Brook Way in Rancho Cordova, he said.
The falcon had surgery on its feet at the Bird and Pet Clinic of Roseville, and Stiansy said it could die without getting its antibiotics. Its feet were bandaged and it was hooded when taken. Stiansy is afraid that someone will dump it and it can't survive on its own.
Stiansy returned to Reno without the bird on Friday. Anyone with information on the falcon's whereabouts can call the pet hospital at (916) 773-6049.
