EL DORADO COUNTY – Crews have removed a large boulder that rolled onto Highway 50 near Echo Summit on Monday.

The boulder fell from the shear cliffs along the roadway after the Echo Summit turn.

US-50 at Echo Summit Caltrans and CHP are working to remove a pesky boulder from the roadway. Traffic is getting through via one-way traffic control. Have patience when traveling through this area.

It then blocked one side of the highway, prompting one-way traffic controls.

Caltrans crews had the boulder cleared a little after noon.
