Paragary Name On Permit To Operate Medical Marijuana Dispensary
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- The name Randy Paragary is synonymous with successful Sacramento restaurants.
There is Esquire Grill, Spataro, Centro's and of course Paragary's to name a few, but CBS13 found the Paragary name popping up on a different type of operation -- a request for a medical marijuana dispensary permit.
CBS13 obtained a document showing the Paragary family trust is also landlord to a pot shop just across the street from the Paragary group headquarters on 28th Street.
"It's a legal enterprise, and they're offering a service and a product that's legal in California," one person interviewed by CBS13 said as they left Paragary's restaurant Monday night.
The document is a request for a special permit to operate a medical marijuana dispensary and is dated Oct. 6, one day before federal attorneys announced warning letters were sent out to 16 Sacramento area pot shops and their landlords threatening to seize property if they stay open. The U.S. Attorney's Office isn't saying which locations were targeted.
"I would say that many people are increasing concerned about what's going on. There have been actions where the federal government has looked into the bank accounts that some dispensaries have," medical marijuana attorney Jeff Kravitz.
Randy Paragary didn't respond to several requests to speak with CBS13.
