One Dead In Fiery Interstate 5 Crash

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Traffic is back to normal along Interstate 5 in Sacramento after a deadly crash this morning.

Just before 6 a.m., a driver crashed through an elevated section of the freeway falling onto the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 below and then the car caught fire.

The CHP doesn't know what caused the driver to go over the ramp.

Two other cars were also involved in the wreck.

One driver was killed in the crash and two other people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash caused a huge traffic backup at the height of the morning commute.

All lanes reopened around 8 a.m.
