Oakland School Shooter Appears In Court
OAKLAND (CBS13) - One Goh appeared in a courtroom Wednesday afternoon. He could face the death penalty.
"The scope of this murderous rampage is really unprecedented in Alameda County," said Nancy O'Malley, Alameda County District Attorney.
Police are using a sonar equipped robot and divers to find the gun used in the murders.
"It's clear to us right now, from the evidence, that he is the person, and the only person responsible for what happened. And we know that he used the weapon and what caliber that he used," said O'Malley.
Goh reportedly told police he was looking for the head of the nursing program when he came to the Oikus University campus. He had previously complained about not being able to get a refund after withdrawing from school last fall. Still, prosecutors say nobody expected this.
"He was a loner, and what some might call a loser. But that he didn't exhibit any behaviors that we're aware of, that would have alerted anyone that he could commit such a murderous rampage," said O'Malley.
Outside the school, crime scene tape is still in place while the investigation continues; and, nearby a memorial to the victims is growing.
Timothy Brown was Judith Seymour's fiancé. She was one of the seven people killed.
"I never thought in a million years she would be murdered while going to school," said Brown.
Oikos has posted a note of condolence on its website. Classes are cancelled until further notice.
