Oakland Man Shot In Head While Feeding Homeless
OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -- Police say an Oakland, Calif., man is in grave condition after he was shot in the head while he and his family were giving food to a homeless man.
Sgt. Mike Gantt says the 29-year-old man and his family regularly take food to homeless people in East Oakland.
Gantt says the family was inside a van talking to a homeless man around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday when someone drove by and opened fire.
The Oakland Tribune reports the wife was grazed in the shoulder, but their two young daughters and the homeless man were not hurt.
Gantt says the family was taken to a hospital and the man was on life support.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $25,000 for information leading to the gunman's arrest.
