Oakdale Man Accused Of Raping Sleeping Teenage Girl
OAKDALE (CBS13) - A 44-year-old Oakdale man is behind bars after he allegedly raped a 16-year-old girl while she was sleeping at his house.
Timothy Lyman was arrested Monday on the charge of forcible sex with a minor.
Police say that on Dec. 27, the victim went to a party in the 1100 block of West H Street in Oakdale where the suspect, Timothy Lyman, allegedly provided minors with alcohol. The victim reported that later that evening after she fell asleep, Lyman had sexual intercourse with her.
The victim referred to her accused attacker as her soccer coach.
A woman and a teenage girl answered Lyman's door on Tuesday but declined to talk with CBS13.
Lyman is accused of raping the 16-year-old girl during his daughter's after Christmas slumber party.
"She was passed out in a bed," Oakdale Police Chief Lester Jenkins said.
Passed out from alcohol police say Lyman served the group of teens.
"He made incriminating statements and did not deny the rape," Jenkins said. "He was arrested and booked for rape."
Neighbors say they didn't hear commotion, and some are having a tough time comprehending the allegations.
"His daughter is basically a nice girl," said Paula Castro, who lives next door. "They're nice people, helpful people. Other than that, I couldn't say much."
The teen, who plays on an area soccer team, didn't tell her mother about the alleged rape until just Monday. Police arrested Lyman hours later.
"I don't anticipate additional victims, but it's always possible in the next couple of days there could be others," Jenkins said.
Lyman is charged with rape and supplying alcohol to minors. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Jail on $100,000 and is scheduled to be in court Wednesday.
