North Sacramento Woman Aids Police In Arrest
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - A woman returned to her north Sacramento home on Saturday to quite a surprise – two burglary suspects climbing out of her kitchen window.
But rather then immediately survey what was missing from the home, Sandra Guzman chased after them. She also called neighbors and police to join in the pursuit.
"I was enraged," Guzman said. "I never felt that much anger. So I immediately lunged at them and began chasing them."
She said they violated her home, stealing her jewelry and even rummaging through her dirty laundry.
"They took my socks out of my dirty laundry, ha, ha."
The suspects apparently squeezed through an unlocked fence and found opportunity.
"I left my window open," she said.
They escaped by hopping the backyard fence, but neighbors updated Guzman and police as they noticed the suspects hopping fences and running down nearby streets.
Eventually, Guzman said, the suspects were trapped in a cul-de-sac not far from her house on Taylor Street.
"We can't believe it happened," she said. "We can't believe they got caught."
Police aren't releasing the names of the suspects, who may be involved in other burglaries, citing the ongoing investigation.
