North Highlands Deaths Investigated As Possible Murder Suicide

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- The suspicious deaths of two people in North Highlands may have been the result of a murder-suicide, according to authorities.

The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department said a 28-year-old man and a woman were found dead in a guest house on the 5800 block of Rosario Boulevard on Sunday evening.

The homeowners, who rented out the guest home, made the discovery after receiving calls from the man's employer when he didn't show up for work.

Both were apparently killed by gunfire.

Authorities have not officially reported on the circumstances surrounding the deaths, but sources told CBS13 they are looking at the case as a possible murder-suicide.

The identities of the deceased persons have not been released.
