Newest Sacramento Kings Join Team After International Physical Problems Fixed
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — International problems with physicals aside, the newest Sacramento Kings are ready to play.
Rudy Gay, Aaron Gray and Quincy Acy practiced for the first time with the team on Thursday. They were expected to play on Wednesday, but were delayed when former King Greivis Vasquez needed his passport before a physical in Toronto.
Gay and his 19 points per game would have been welcomed in Wednesday's 21-point loss to the Utah Jazz.
Head Coach Mike Malone cautions fans it will take time for this team to get on the same page after adding three new players.
"In a way, it's like you are starting over again," he said. "It's like having a training camp on the fly to get these guys caught up to speed."
One question mark: How will Gay and DeMarcus Cousins get along on the floor?
"So far so good," Gay said. "He's a great talent. Both of us are selfless players, and I don't think there will be any problems."
