New Arena Study Released Wednesday
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- A committee led by Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson is set to release a study on the expected economic impact of a new downtown arena.
"Think BIG Sacramento", a 70-member group formerly known as "Here We Build", "will announce their findings Thursday at a downtown news conference.
The mayor's office says the committee will release a report on Sept. 8 showing the likely revenue sources for a new facility.
The Kings were close to moving the basketball team to Anaheim before deciding last month to stay at least one more season.
NBA Commissioner David Stern has told Sacramento it must have a new arena plan in place by March 1 or the franchise will likely relocate.
