Neighbors Shocked To Hear Mexican Massacre Suspect Was Just Down The Street
NORTH SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Neighbors of the home where Genaro Olaguez was found were surprised to find out he had spent 13 years on the run after allegedly committing a massacre in Mexico.
U.S. Marshals arrested Olaguez at a home in North Sacramento on a tip from Mexican authorities.
He's accused of using heavy weapons to kill a commissioner and seven other city leaders in a massacre in Mexico in May of 2000.
"If you look at the man, you'd probably say he's a family man, but he's not," said Jim Stanko, who has lived at his home for 50 years.
That neighborhood is where moms like Jesseida Escobar walk around with their kids.
"Every day to take my kids to school, and every day, so it's kind of a little bit scary," she said. "That's good that they found him."
He's awaiting deportation back to Mexico.
