Neighbor Acts Quickly To Help Put Out Rancho Cordova House Fire
RANCHO CORDOVA (CBS13) - A fast-moving grass fire spread to a nearby Rancho Cordova home when a quick-thinking neighbor grabbed a hose and tried to put the flames out.
Sacramento Metro Fire units responded to the fire near Folsom Boulevard and Rod Beaudry around 12:30 p.m. Sunday and discovered a burning detached garage in the 2500 block of East Tiffany Lane.
The home and detached garage made access to the fire difficult. However, crews were able put out the grass fire and contain the fire to the garage and keep it from spreading to the home. The garage was destroyed.
Vehicles parked outside the garage suffered heat damage.
There were no reported injuries.
Officials say the fire is considered suspicious and its cause is under investigation.
