NBA Relocation Committee Meets With Community Leaders About Kings

 SACRAMENTO(CBS13) – They're here and they are seeing purple.  Members of the NBA Relocation Committee are inSacramentomeeting with city leaders who are trying to keep the Kings in the Capitol City.

 The NBA representatives, Relocation Committee Chairman Clay Bennett and NBA attorney Harvey Benjamin are in Sacramentoon a fact-finding mission. 

 The pair first met with State Senator Darrell Steinberg, Sacramento Cityofficials as well as other community leaders.  Senator Steinberg's office tells CBS13 that the meeting went very well and that Clay Bennett specifically asked if this was a regional effort to keep the Kings in Sacramento..

 They then met with community business leaders for about an hour at the U.S. Bank building.  Sacramento Metro Chamber president Matt Mahood spoke with reporters before heading into the meeting.

 "I think this is a very important day forSacramentoto demonstrate to the NBA. When the mayor went back toNew Yorkand spoke to the Board of Governors, he made some  promises and he told the Board we had commitments," said Mahood. "I think they're here to make sure we have those commitments.  We're going to put the community and business leaders in the room and demonstrate the level of commitment we have."  

 As that meeting took place, Kings fans and employees from Power Balance Pavilion rallied outside ofSacramentoCity Hallwith huge signs showing their support for the Kings. to show the Relocation Committee that the Kings have fans here.
