NBA Finals: 10 Differences From 1975 To Today
It's been 40 years since the Warriors sniffed the NBA finals, and boy, have things changed.
The Warriors swept the Washington Bullets in four games and Rick Barry peaked his legacy in the Bay Area. For the generations that missed that glorious moment, here are a few differences the world has seen since confetti last rained down on Golden State:
10. Gas was $0.44 per gallon
I wish this wasn't on this list and gas was still this cheap. Alas, its a pretty good indicator of how life was back in 1975.
9. Microsoft was created
One of America's most cherished corporations was Bill Gates' and Paul Allen's Microsoft, founded in 1975. Now they are a couple of the richest men in the country.
8. Disco
It was a thing.
7. Digital camera and laser printer invented
We take these two inventions for granted now, but back in the day this stuff was groundbreaking.
6. Saturday Night Live airs pilot
The great comedy show has catapulted many actors into stardom since it's beginning. Forty years later, it's still going strong.
5. Jaws was released in theaters
One of Steven Spielberg's greatest creations was unleashed in to the world in 1975 and we never looked back.
4. Pet rocks
1975 was so long ago, people kept rocks as pets. They even taught them tricks: sit and stay.
3. Pong surfaces as first home gaming console
It's pretty incredible to think of when you consider the kind of intricate and realistic games we play today.
2. "The Jeffersons" premieres
One of America's longest-lasting sitcoms ever got its start in 1975.
1. "I'd rather be dead than sing Satisfaction when I'm 45"-Mick Jagger, age 33
That quote is still hilarious. At age 71, Jagger is still alive and touring with the Rolling Stones singing classic hits such as "Satisfaction."
