Mother Of Suspect In Sacramento 6-Year-Old's Death Also Facing Charges
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Prosecutors say that the mother of the suspect in the death of 6-year-old Jadianna Larsen is also facing criminal charges.
Suspect Juan Rivera was arraigned in Sacramento County Court Tuesday afternoon for the killing of Larsen. The 6-year-old was reported missing from her Sacramento apartment last week; her body was later discovered burned in a Glenn County field.
According to Rivera's initial statement to authorities, he says he had been watching Larsen then passed out due to some sort of medical emergency. Larsen was gone when he came to, Rivera claims. However, detectives said they have reason to believe Rivera murdered Larsen.
In the complaint released Tuesday, prosecutors say Rivera used some sort of blunt object in the killing of Larsen.

Rivera's mother, identified in court as Lisa Suzanne Burton, was arraigned just after Rivera Tuesday and is facing accessory to murder charges, with the complaint alleging she helped harbor Rivera.
Jadianna's mother is not considered a suspect in the 6-year-old's death and has been cooperating with the investigation, detectives have said.
