More Changes In Weather As Another Storm Moves In
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - The weather roller coast will take another twist Monday night when a winter storm is expected move through the valley and stick around into Tuesday.
The storm should spread some more snow in the Sierra mountains and bring some light rain showers to the valley. Temperatures will drop about 20 degrees from Monday in the Sacramento area, with a high expected only to reach 55 degrees.
The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory from 10 a.m. Tuesday until 10 a.m. Wednesday. Sustained northerly winds are expected at 15-25 mph, with gusts up to 40-50 mph.
There's also a winter weather advisory beginning after 10 p.m. Monday at elevations above 5,000 feet, with several inches of fresh snow expected.
The extended forecast in Sacramento calls for sunny weather the rest of the week after the storm quickly moves through on Tuesday.
Valley residents enjoyed ideal spring-like weather this past weekend and into Monday, with highs in the 70s. The high could inch past 70 again by Friday, but clouds should roll back in over the weekend with a chance of more showers.
