Mom Admits Hiding Gun In Diaper Bag

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- A mother who was arrested for pulling a gun from a diaper bag and ordering her pit bull to attack a teenager admitted to CBS13 that she made mistakes but said the victim provoked the encounter.

Alisha Clark, 20, said she was angry on Easter Sunday when she spotted some young teens petting one of her pit bull puppies and told them to leave.

"The girls were like, 'Haters!'" Clark said.

When the teens refused, an argument broke out and Clark commanded her adult pit bull to attack one of the teens, investigators said. One of the alleged victims, Lameka Robinson, said the pit bull tried to lock onto her leg but was driven off by her cousin.

Police said the mother-of-two placed her 4-month-old baby in a stroller and shoved a handgun into a diaper bag, threatening the teens.

"It was a misunderstanding," Clark said. "I don't know what to do with a gun. If I knew how to shoot the gun maybe I would have protected myself because I'm 12 weeks pregnant."

Sacramento Police Department spokesperson Officer Laura Peck said officers found the gun in the diaper bag when they arrived, and one of the officers was attacked by the pit bull.

Nobody was seriously hurt during the incident and Clark was arrested, losing custody of her baby.

"I'm not a bad mom, I'm not," she said. "I will kill myself because that's my life. That's everything I live for."

Clark is facing multiple charges including assault with a deadly weapon. The baby is being cared for by family members.
