Modesto Police Officer Arrested On Drug And Embezzlement Charges

MODESTO (CBS13) - A Modesto police officer has been arrested on several felony charges, according to Modesto Police.

Modesto investigators say Anthony Trock, a 4-year veteran with the force, was seizing illegal drugs from people he contacted while on the job as an officer but failing to book the drugs into evidence.

Detectives investigated after receiving a complaint from a citizen.

Police also say on at least one occasion Trock gave the seized drugs to another person.

"I am deeply disappointed in the conduct of Anthony Trock.  Anytime a police officer violates the public's trust, it brings disgrace to the organization and law enforcement profession," said Modesto Police Chief Michael Harden. "Police officers are not above the law and we will vigorously investigate those who break the law and violate the public's trust."

Trock was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, furnishing illegal drugs, and embezzlement.  He was booked into the Stanislaus County Jail and has been stripped of his law enforcement powers and placed on administrative leave.
