UPDATE: Police Shoot, Kill Elderly Modesto Man Accused Of Holding Wife Hostage
MODESTO (CBS13) - An elderly man is dead after reportedly holding his wife hostage overnight inside their Modesto home.
Police entered the home just after 5 a.m. Thursday after learning the woman had a health condition that needed medical attention. Officers ended up shooting and killing the man.
The woman has been transported to the hospital.
The standoff began after 6 p.m. on Wednesday night at the home on Evona Court.
Police had to evacuate some area homes.
The names of the victim and suspect have not been released.
