Driver killed in crash in Modesto on Morgan Road, police say
MODESTO – A driver is dead after a crash in Modesto Friday evening, police said.
The crash happened around 5:30 p.m. for reports of a major injury crash near Morgan Road and Nelson Way.
Officers found a blue Ford Mustang had crashed with a semi-truck. Police said an investigation determined the Mustang was traveling south on Morgan Road when it crashed into the semi just south of Nelson Way.
The driver of the Mustang was rushed to the hospital where he later died, police said. His identification has not been released.
The driver of the semi suffered minor injuries.
The Modesto Fire Department responded to the scene to extricate and perform CPR. They also assisted with cleaning up gas and engine oil that spilled into the gutters and drain.
