Modesto Fire Fighters Prevent Gas Line Fire Explosion
MODESTO (CBS13) - Modesto fire fighters prevented what could have been an explosive situation when one of them was able to shut off a burning gas line overnight.
Video from ModestoNew.org shows flames shooting in the air in the commercial district of Modesto near 9th and J streets after a gas line exploded and burst into flames.
One firefighter ran in to shut off the gas before it exploded again and spread to neighboring businesses.
Firefighters were then able to douse the fire quickly.
No injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation.
